Liliaceae
This is a very large family that has various genera as the Aloe (almost all from South Africa and Madagascar), the Astoloba, the Bowiea, the Gasteria, and the Haworthia (from South Africa).
The Aloe genus includes many species, some of which very resistant: there are many varieties that live well in our latitudes even in winter and outdoors.
Amongst the Aloe we find the Aloe Arborescens and the Aloe Vera, with medicinal properties, and widely used in cosmetics.
The Gasteria and the Hawortia are slightly less resistant to cold, but live well even in half shade.
