Welwitschiaceae

This family includes only one genera and only one specie: the Welwitschia Mirabilis.

It is a very strange plant originating from South Africa, with a very long root that can reach up to 20 meters in depth to seek water.

It has a short and stout trunk, and has leaves that are very large and resistant and last for the duration of the plant's life (it can live even one thousand years).

To allow for the development in depth of the Welwitschia's roots, it should be placed in very long vases, or as we have done.
